AIDS WALK
Woodside Church was the top money raising team for the September 26th AIDS WALK - Flint. Woodside's team raised $1,190.00 for Wellness support. Prior to the walk, there was a wonderful program folllowed by inspirational talks by two VH1 and MTV reality stars from New York. Rememberances and a prayer started the 3K walk of about 300 people. After the walk, all were invited back to University Center for sandwiches, donated by Deco Deli, and fellowship with other participants. Wellness Aids Services was very happy with the outcome and thanks Woodside Chirch for their generous support.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
The theme for this year's VBS was entitled "By What Name Do You Call This Child". The sessions ran from August 17th - 20th. We had an excellent turn out of nearly 30 participants, both young and young at heart, for the event. They put together a huge poster entitled "You Know You're a Woodsider if ...". You can still see the poster which is located in the hallway at the church. Thanks to all those 'young at heart' folks who helped make this a great experience for the kids.

WOODSIDE COMMUNITY FESTIVAL DAY
Sunday October 18th was Woodside Community Festival Day. This year's theme was entitled " The Magic,Music, and Mystery of Worship". During the service, the annual Woodside Church Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Jack and Jakie Byers and Wise and Cherry Joseph for their years of service and dedication to Woodside Church. Following the service, participants gathered in the Fellowship Hall for dinner and a wonderful magic show by magician Bret Beaudry. A big 'thank you' to all of the many people who made our Community Festival Day such a big success.

ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP DINNER/AUCTION
On Thursday March 11th, Woodside Church hosted our annual Scholarship Dinner and Auction. Proceeds from this event go directy to students in the Flint Community Schools to help further their higher education. This year's event was a great success due to the tremendous support of all of those who attended. This year, we will be able to grant over $8,000.00 in scholarship money! The Scholarship Committee would like to thank all those who attended and worked. We were very fortunate to have five Communications majors from the University of Michigan - Flint volunteer their time and talents to this year's auction. It is so wonderful to see young people in the Flint area give back to their community through volunteerism. Thanks everyone.
Second Annual Flint Volunteer Expo
On Saturday April 10th, Woodside Church was an exhibitor at the Second Annual Flint Volunteer Expo held at First Presbyterian Church in Downtown Flint. This event provided an opportunity for those in the community to see various organizations within Genesee County and the volunteer opportunities available at each of those organizations. It was estimated that over 500 people visited the expo. It was a wonderful opportunity for us to showcase Woodside Church to the community.
