NORTH END SOUP KITCHEN
Our turn to help out at the North End Soup Kitchen is Saturday August 14th. We meet at the North End Soup Kitchen at 735 E. Stewart Ave. at 9:00am to help prepare and serve lunch. You can sign up at the church counter or just show up.


INTERGENERATIONAL VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
VBS will be held from 5-7:30pm August 22 - 26. We begin at 4:45pm on Monday, with the potluck ready, in order to watch the movie, Avatar, by 5:00pm sharp. The movie is rated PG-13 (for violence and some language) so all children under 13 need a permission slip from a parent or guardian or have an adult accompany them. The movie is two and a half hours long. We will have a breif discussion following the film. Throughout the week we will discuss each topic of the day as it relates to the movie. The VBS theme is And God Created ... Earth (Monday); ... Animals (Tuesday); ... Family (Wednesday); and ... Faith (Thursday).
 

PRESERVATION MAGAZINE ARTICLE
Take a look at this link to an article in Preservation Magazine (May/June, 2010). It is about Christ Church Lutheran in Minneapolis,MN. This is a church designed by Eliel Saarien in 1949 (the same individual who designed Woodside Church). Take a look at the slide show, you will see striking similarities to Woodside Church. You might find it interesting.

INTERFAITH SALEM HOUSING WORK DAY
Save Sunday August 22nd for an Interfaith Salem Housing Work Day. After worship, we will lunch together and carpool to the housing sites where we will work until 4pm and have pizza afterward. This a a great opportunity to support our community and get to know people of other faiths. Please join us for this event. Sign up sheet is at the church counter. MEDICAL EMERGENCY RESPONSE PREPAREDNESS
