qword.2.jpgDr. Quincy Dobbs is Minister of Music and Fine Arts at Woodside Church in Flint where he oversees the music program. He received his Master of Music degree from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, studying organ with David Mulbury. His Doctor of Musical Arts is from Arizona State University in Tempe, studying with Robert Clark.

January 15, 2010 benefits Global Women – The speaker, Cindy Dawson, talks of the issues facing women around the world and their vision for the future. The concert features Dr. Q’s Sacred Jazz Connection                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     

March 19, 2010 benefits Haitian Holy Trinity Music School - Help to rebuild the school which was devastated by the earthquake. Program, with Mary Procopio from Mott Community College, begins with a light supper at 6:00 pm followed by the concert, with Haitian musicians, at 7:30 pm.                                   

May 21, 2010 benefits Consortium for Child Abuse and Neglect - Learn to identify signs of children in peril and how you can help. The concert features Ivan Griffin and friends. 

Jazz Vespers

Third Fridays at 6 p.m.Coffee house setting offers mix of outstanding music, readings all focused on (Re)claiming Ourselves, (Re)inventing Community, the theme for this season’s Jazz VespersThis monthly event is designed to be spiritually uplifting with some of the area’s best jazz musicians adding their musical interpretation to a selection of readings, creating a unique experience    .September 18 (7:30 p.m.)*                        October 16                 November 20             December 18                                 January 15
